This week I started the plans for Liz’s 11th birthday! She of course wanted a sleepover, and to take some friends to the movies. I searched for what was coming out and found that Hotel Transylvania 2 was in theaters on her birthday weekend. I knew it was a perfect fit. The look on Liz’s face when I mentioned it gave me a 100% YES!
I didn’t find many invite options on Pinterest. So I came up with my own. I found the image on the Hotel Transylvania 2 website. I added the party info using PicMonkey. Love this website for photo editing!
And the result:
I’m printing them today and sending them to her friends on Monday! I also made a matching copy for the family party I will be having on the Sunday! Makes it very simple and still very fun.
Birthday parties are one of my favorite things to plan. Not only do I enjoy how happy the kids are when they see all my hard work, but I also have a lot of fun putting it all together. If it wasn’t for Pinterest I’m sure this would be a different story 😉
To make the birthday invitation fast and easy I follow these 3 easy steps. Continue reading
To save some money on our wedding invitation I printed my own. This gave me the chance to personalize not only the invite but the reply card as well. I found the alternate wording for “will not attend” on Pinterest – “will celebrate from a far” is the one that I liked the best.
We wanted to make sure that everyone is happy with the music we have selected. To help this happen we asked for everyone’s favorite songs. We added the songs to our playlist for the night.
I have been warned that sometimes the reply card is returned without the name of the invitee(s). To save this from happening I numbered the reply cards. I saved the numbers in my guest list so I could refer back to it if needed.
If you are copying my lay out make sure you remember the one thing that I forgot. The reply by date! Yup I completely forgot that part. I would rather not have to chase after people for the reply, as I’m sure you would too. Trying to get replys right before the wedding can be difficult, especially if you have a large wedding.
How I made my wedding invitations, they look great and best part is they only cost me $10!
I am always looking for a good deal, so as you can imagine once I got engaged I started looking for wedding items at a discount. I found my dress through Kijiji and saved tons on it. The second thing I found was my invitation. The local surplus store had a shelf full of wedding invitations for only $9.99. I looked through and found ones that I liked, all I needed to do was print them from my computer. Continue reading
It’s that time of year again. I am planning my son’s birthday. This year is pretty fun as he actually has interests. It was a choice between trains or cars, he LOVES both of these greatly. We decided on trains since we expect his love of cars to be around for a VERY long time.
I started getting my ideas together on Pinterest as I find this is the best way to organize all the ideas I find. While looking for a printable invite I found mostly ones you had to order. Being as I like to spend as little money as possible that wasn’t going to work. I started wondering how hard could it be to make my own invite? With some searching I discovered it wasn’t as hard as I thought.
