Jellied Salad

One of my favorite parts of large family gatherings when I was growing up was the food. Specifically the orange jello salad. We only had this treat at Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas.  Now as an adult I enjoy it more often. And the whole family loves it! Liz took some convincing, but once she saw me make it she loved it. I mean who doesn’t want a “salad” that is mostly whipped  cream!

Yummy jello salad. My favorite dish to make for family gatherings.

It is very rare that there is any of this yummy salad left after a large meal.

  1. Hi … I still love jelly and especially trifle .. but can quite see the family enjoying your ‘jellied salad’!! Lots of ideas too … a little more fruit, some different colours .. jelly is easy to ring the changes isn’t it and get the cooks cooking … I hope you’re enjoying the A-Z and getting out to meet new friends .. cheers Hilary

  2. I’m not sure that I’ve had exactly this salad, but I’ve had some similar. My mother used to make a “salad” with some of the same ingredients, but it also had miniature marshmallows in it. And there was no jello in it.

Salads like this make a refreshing treat on a hot summer day.
