If you are using cloth diapers it makes complete sense to use cloth wipes as well. It doesn’t require any extra laundry is your already washing your cloth diapers. I store my cloth wipes in a regular wipes container. I fold them so that they pop out just as if they were regular wipes. This makes diaper changes very quick and easy.
My set up for the cloth wipes includes an old wipes container and a squirt bottle for water. For the wipes I use old baby washcloths I got really cheap at a yard sale. You could also make your own using almost any type of cloth material; old receiving blankets or baby bath towels. I like the washcloths as they are already the right size and required no work to “turn them into” wipes. I keep the squirt bottle with my wipes container so that I can just get the cloth wet when needed for diaper changes. The tricky part is storing your cloth wipes so that they are easy to use when you need them for diaper changes. I have included lots of photos to explain how I fold them.
On a flat surface lay one of the wipes out. Then place the second one down covering half of it. You then fold the first wipe over the second one, as pictured below. You place the next wipe over the pile you are starting to form in the center. Continue repeating this process until you have all your wipes folded and ready to put into the container. You then place them into the container as you would with disposable wipes.
To clean the wipes you just place them in your wet bag, and wash with your cloth diapers.
