If you haven’t checked out what Sparkles was up to in the beginning of Dec this year check out this post.

This year our Elf on the Shelf was keeping it simple. Much easier on a busy household, and the great news is the kids loves it. They were just as happy to find her peak out from under a hat as they were to see she TP’ed the Christmas tree!

Day 15 – The first day we have the tree up and Sparkles decides it needs to be decorated right away.

Elf on the shelf decorated our Christmas tree before we could.

Guess Who’s Back At Your House?

This past weekend our city had their Santa Claus parade. We were lucky enough to have good weather for it. No rain or snow, the weather was actually warm until the sun went down. The parade is a sure sign for our kids that Santa is back in town. In our home the return of Santa means the return of his little helper. The night of the parade our elf on the shelf appeared up in our home again.

That’s right Sparkles is Back!

Our Elf on the Shelf, Sparkles has returned. This year she is starting out with a great game!

This year (or at least for the main part) I plan on changing things up with our elf Sparkles. Continue reading

Gifts and How to Save on Gift Giving … A to Z Challenge

There is a lot of money to be saved when it comes to giving gifts. I found this out the hard way when my daughter started school. In junior kindergarten she was invited to about 10 birthdays! Most of these I had about a week (or less) notice. So I ended up having to buy a lot of gifts at full price. I have a maximum amount I will spend so I had to work a bit harder to keep under budget. Fast forward to today, there are a lot gifts we give out during the year. These include birthdays, Christmas, Easter, weddings & baby gifts just to name a few. We have a large group of friends that we love as well as nephews, parents, siblings and of course our family of 5! Wow thinking about all of it reminds me I need to start budgeting for Christmas now.

Save money of gift giving. We all give gifts thoughout the year why not save some money too.
