When I was pregnant with William I turned to a local online group of parents get recommendations on types and brands of cloth diapers. I wanted to know what worked for other moms before buying my own. One of the responses mentioned elimination communication, that her daughter had gone poop on the potty since she was 6 months old. This caught my attention and I figured I would look into it. Boy am I glad I did!
It’s that time of year again. I am planning my son’s birthday. This year is pretty fun as he actually has interests. It was a choice between trains or cars, he LOVES both of these greatly. We decided on trains since we expect his love of cars to be around for a VERY long time.
I started getting my ideas together on Pinterest as I find this is the best way to organize all the ideas I find. While looking for a printable invite I found mostly ones you had to order. Being as I like to spend as little money as possible that wasn’t going to work. I started wondering how hard could it be to make my own invite? With some searching I discovered it wasn’t as hard as I thought.
I wanted to do a fun Christmas ornament with the kids this year to give as a gift to the grandparents. I found many on Pinterest and really liked the look of the Snowman Handprint Ornament. It looks like the original post was on this website.
The only thing that was wrong with this ornament was the fact that I have 8 ornaments to make and 2 kids. So that would be 16 ornaments all together. Seemed like too much to try and get done before Christmas. So I decided to make these ornaments personalized to our family. Each of our fingerprints for each snowman.
Halloween is one of my favorite times of year. There’s so many things to do as a family and it’s always fun getting the kids dressed up.
This year we carved our pumpkins on the Sunday before. They turned out very good. Elizabeth helped choose the design for William’s. Couldn’t convince her to clean it out too though 🙂
And of course you need to see them lit up.
The kids had a blast getting dressed up William was a dragon and Elizabeth was a witch. We had a lot of fun doing Liz’s make-up. Her favorite part was the spider and it’s web.
Unfortunately for trick-or-treating it was a miserable night, but since we can’t control the weather we made the most of it. William got the hang of it after a few houses than he was unstoppable.
What’s your favorite part of halloween ? And what did your kids dress-up as this year?
Now that William is older he has an interest in certain shows on TV, most of them including trucks or trains. When he is having his diaper free time and has to go potty, he has found a way to make sure that he gets to the potty on time and doesn’t miss his favorite show.
What a smart little boy.
